I got a text from my sis this morning saying that the cops came and took my niece last night for suspected drug and alcohol abuse. My niece was put in her fathers custody :( My sister does drink on the weekends. She takes drugs that are prescribed to her.
My niece is very well taken care of. So this order of protection should have never been filed IMO. Please pray for her. I would write more but this is the internet and everyone can read it so if you want more info just call me.
Update 3/8/16
My sister does have a drug problem and a drinking problem. This was just the start of it all. My niece is now in her fathers custody and that's a good thing. My sister and I are now estranged due to her lifestyle. Please pray for my niece.
A blog about being a mom, living as cheap, money saving ideas I have read. All that and a bag of chips.

My experiment KFC chicken and potato wedges
So I found a recipe online modified it to what I had and made KFC chicken and potato wedges. The potato wedges were super yummy. Chicken was ok but so not KFC.
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon Paprika
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon Baking Powder
Preheat 3 cups
canola oil in a electric fry pan to 350 degrees. Combine the beaten egg and
milk in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, combine the remaining
coating ingredients (flour, salt, pepper and garlic). When the chicken
has marinated,
(The Kentucky Fried Chicken Marinate
2 tablespoons table Salt
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 can Chicken Concentrate/broth
Mix all of the above and soak the chicken in the above marinate for
24 hours under refrigeration. transfer each piece to paper towels so that excess
liquid can drain off.) Working with one piece at a time, first dip in
egg and milk then coat the chicken with the dry flour mixture, then
the egg and milk mixture again, and then back into the flour. Be sure
that each piece is coated very generously. Stack the chicken on a
plate or cookie sheet until each piece has been coated. Drop the
chicken, one piece at a time into the hot oil. Fry the
chicken 4 pieces at a time for 12-15 minutes, or until it is golden
brown. You should be sure to stir the chicken around 4 times through
the cooking time so that each piece cooks evenly. Remove the chicken
to a rack or towels to drain for about 5 minutes before eating. Make sure internal temp is 165
For the potato wedges
5 Baking potatoes cut into Wedges
I used the same mix as I did for the chicken just don't marinade
Preheat 3 cups oil to 375°F
Cut the potatoes into 16 to 18 equal
side wedges. Mix the egg and milk till well blended in a big bowl.
Mix the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Put some potatoes in the
milk and egg then into the flour mixture till well coated. Fry in
fry pan for 3 minutes remove from the oil and allow them to sit for one
minute and then cook them again for 5 minutes or until cooked.
Enjoy DS loved the potato wedges with organic ketchup.

disinfecting wipes
Homemade Disinfecting Wipes
Cut in half a roll of the best paper towels you can find. Some like Bounty or Brawny. I like using towels made from recycled paper. Remove the center cardboard tube.
Mix a solution of 1 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup bleach.
Add the essential oil of your liking. Pour the bleach/essential oil solution into container and add paper towels. Allow towels to become completely soaked with the solution.
I found this recipe online I may just have to try it out.

El cheapo Breakfast and Supper
Last night we had one of the cheapest dinners I make. Under $3 for a family of 3.
We had spaghetti and garlic bread.
Jar sauce: .89 - .99
Spaghetti - (half box .35) full box on sale .69
Garlic bread off the day old rack 1.00-1.50 (depending on the store and size I get)
This is one meal my toddler and husband love!
This mornings breakfast was under .75 for a family of 3
Biscuits .39 for a ten pack can (Save-a-Lot)
jam and butter/margarine under .30
This is a huge hit with my husband and son too.
Enjoy!

New product I found
So being a mom I am always in search of new products especially stuff I can give him when sick. Well today when I was in Babies R' Us I found this product called Organic B.R.A.T. feel better drink. It was a little pricey but when he is sick that doesn't matter to me. So I bought it to keep on hand cause the closest Babies R' Us is 25 minutes away. The shelf life is till next June 2011. So if he has not had another stomach bug before then(cross fingers), he will just drink it. Nothing is in it that will hurt him. Oh yeah I got the vanilla flavor.
SAHM
I love being a stay at home mom. My mom was a sahm till I was 11 and then when I was older my dad was a sahd. I found that it is really about the time you spend with your children not the money you can give them. Even though I grew up poor I would have not changed anything.
I would love to work but daycare is so expensive. I would only trust an accrediated daycare to watch my 28 month old or family members. I worked in daycare for many years so I know how many of them are run and frequently what the parents didn't know. The family members I would trust to watch my son all work the hours I would work.
So out of desire and money issues I am a SAHM that babysits and does jobs that she can take her son with her to.

My very first post!
So for awhile I have been wondering how to do this whole blogging thing. I used to love blogging on myspace but I no longer use my account so I was looking for a place to write stuff down and share all the cool websites I know of for Mama's and people who are trying to save money.
I am not the greatest writer in the world but I do love to get my thoughts out. I am constantly reading stuff online about ways to save money, how to be a better mother, newest cloth diaper techniques/ideas, sewing projects and how to live a cheaply as possible and still be happy.
So I guess this blog will be a little bit about everything that is relevant in my life. I have so much to share if you wanna read.
