Homemade Disinfecting Wipes
Cut in half a roll of the best paper towels you can find. Some like Bounty or Brawny. I like using towels made from recycled paper. Remove the center cardboard tube.
Mix a solution of 1 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup bleach.
Add the essential oil of your liking. Pour the bleach/essential oil solution into container and add paper towels. Allow towels to become completely soaked with the solution.
I found this recipe online I may just have to try it out.
if you"re interested in a much more natural non-toxic approach (we're pretty anti bleach in our house) you could try this:
ReplyDeleteDisinfectant: Mix 2 teaspoons borax, 4 tablespoons vinegar and 3 cups hot water. For stronger cleaning power add 1/4 teaspoon liquid castile soap. Wipe on with dampened cloth or use non-aerosol spray bottle. (This is not an antibacterial formula. The average kitchen or bathroom does not require antibacterial cleaners.)
To disinfect kitchen sponges, put them in the dishwasher when running a load.
and to make the wipes you just soak the towels etc and keep them in a container just as you would regular wipes :)
when you kill all the bacteria you often kill a LOT of good bacteria that helps you, so its typically best to not do it unless there has been some sickness etc that you've been trying to get rid of, which is why we VERY rarely use antibacterial anything.
